Operator 1

Reports directly to the Production Supervisor and is responsible for completing all duties and tasks assigned to them before their normal work shift ends. Signs off on safety commitments.
Obey GMP's and PPE's for production areas.
Keep machines clean and in good running condition. Keeps accurate records of carton/film usage, downtime and jam ups. Clears up jams in a timely manner. Follows proper safety measures.
Keeps cartons/film loaded correctly during production. Makes sure packers receive a pouch of the new code. Verbally communicates new code to packers.
Lets inspectors know when they can load a new code on the line. Knows code requirements and is able to change codes on printer.
Checks cartons/pouches immediately after code changes. Compares pouch code to carton code and checks for proper glue.
Notifies mechanic of all machine problems. Unloads cartons/film and cleans machine at end of shift.
Routinely checks glue pots, ink bottles, or ink pads. Monitors line processing and completes required paperwork.
May work on Alternative Work Week Schedule (12 hour)
Performs other duties as assigned.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
Basic math skills.
Carries out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Must be detail-oriented and have the ability to lift 60-75lbs.
High School Diploma or GED (General Education Degree).
To perform this job assignment an individual must meet the required job specific training located in the Training Register.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee frequently is required to stand. Specific vision abilities required by this job include the ability to adjust focus.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is sometimes exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is frequently exposed to extreme cold, extreme heat, and vibration. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and potential exposure to sulphuric acid (electric battery), potential exposure to carbon monoxide from propane fueled forklift. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
