Temporary: This position is temporary and will last until August 31, 2026. This position may be extended for additional operational needs.
Developmental Underfill Opportunity: This position may be filled as a developmental underfill at the Court Operations Clerk job profile level. The salary range for the Court Operations Clerk is $4,116 - $6,387 per month.
Interviews: Generally, will be scheduled within two weeks after the application deadline. May take longer, depending on the number of applications.

Benefits to You
In this job profile, we offer candidates new to OJD up to the fourth step of the salary range, depending on experience. Temporary-status employees are paid twice per month.
Temporary-status employees may be eligible for insurance benefits under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA), and in accordance with Public Employee Benefit Board (PEBB) eligibility rules, and OJD Health Insurance under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 Policy, No. 040.50.06. Temporary-status employees who, upon hire, are expected to work an average of 30 or more hours per week will be eligible for benefits on the first of the fourth month of employment.
Temporary status employees who work full-time accrue 6.14 hours of sick leave per full calendar month, which can be used as soon as it is credited.
Position Highlights
The Clackamas County Circuit Court is hiring a Temporary Jury Clerk (Court Operations Associate).
In this role
You will utilize the Oregon Judicial Department's Jury Management System to process and maintain accurate juror records. You will respond to inquiries from jurors and court staff, providing timely and clear information. Check in jurors upon arrival and assist with completing online forms as needed. Review and analyze juror responses and requests, complying with statutes, policies, and procedural criteria.
You will also assist the jury coordinator with all jury-related functions by conducting jury draws, determining the number of jurors required, providing orientation to prospective jurors, and creating a daily verbal message that instructs jurors on reporting time and date for future jury panel requirements as needed.
Assigned tasks may be changed to accommodate workload and organizational needs.

Filling This Position
This position will be filled one of two ways:
By appointment of an application who meets the minimum qualifications (as identified below) for a Court Operations Associate; OR
By development underfill of an applicant who meets the minimum qualifications (as identified below) for a Court Operations Clerk.
Court Operations Associate Minimum Qualifications
The qualified candidate must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
AND At least three (3) or more years of responsible experience in a moderately complex office or business setting involving the processing of financial, administrative, or legal documents.
OR Any combination of education and experience equivalent to three (3) years of experience that typically supports the knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position.
Court Operations Clerk Minimum Qualifications
The qualified candidate must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
AND At least one (1) year of responsible clerical experience in a moderately complex office or business setting.
OR Any combination of education and experience equivalent to one (1) year of experience that typically supports the knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position.

Requested Skills and Attributes
Proficiency providing tactful and professional customer service to a variety of individuals or clients who are facing challenging life circumstances in a busy professional setting.
Proficiency using computers to access and input information and to complete a variety of tasks; computer use should be recent and regular.
Skill performing a variety of clerical or administrative support tasks with strict, and often competing, deadlines in a fast-paced office setting, to include high-volume scheduling.
Skill explaining processes, procedures, or policies.
Skill meeting deadlines despite frequent interruption while working independently or within a team.
Skill reviewing documents for accuracy, content, grammar, and punctuation.
Experience identifying and safeguarding confidential information and materials.
Experience working in a court or legal environment is preferred but not required.
Working Conditions
This is a full-time, temporary position, and the work schedule is generally 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. This position is eligible for overtime compensation for hours worked in excess of 40 per workweek.
Occasional after-hours or overtime work may be required.
Frequent phone and in-person contact with people from diverse backgrounds.
Frequent phone and in-person contact with people who may be facing challenging life circumstances, highly stressful situations, or trauma.
Long periods of sitting or standing.
Regular use of the following equipment: telephone, OJD-assigned computer with multiple monitors, copy machine, fax machine, and scanner.
