Hydro Vac / Air Mover Operator
Winter Environmental is seeking a Hydro Vac / Air Mover Operator to support field operations across the Southeast.
This is a field-based, working position focused on operating vacuum excavation and air mover equipment on active job sites. The role includes CDL driving primarily to mobilize equipment to and between project sites, but the majority of time will be spent operating equipment and supporting field work.
The ideal candidate is safety-driven, mechanically capable, and experienced working in active construction, industrial, or environmental job site environments.
Key Responsibilities
Safely operate CDL Class A or B vehicles
Transport vac trucks, air movers, and support equipment to/from job sites
Occasionally move additional equipment (skid steers, mini excavators, generators) as needed
Properly secure loads using chains, binders, and straps
Perform pre-trip/post-trip inspections and maintain DOT compliance
Operate vacuum excavation units (hydro/vac) and air mover systems on active job sites
Perform potholing, trench exposure, debris removal, and material conveyance
Support setup, operation, and breakdown of equipment for project execution
Work alongside field crews and supervision to execute project scopes
Assist with mobilization and demobilization activities
Maintain equipment cleanliness, functionality, and job readiness
Required Qualifications
Valid CDL Class A or B with clean driving record
Experience hauling equipment and/or trailers
Knowledge of DOT regulations and compliance
Ability to properly secure loads (chains, binders, straps)
Ability to pass drug screening, background check, and DOT requirements
Willingness to work in active field environments
Preferred Qualifications
Direct experience operating hydro/vac or air mover equipment
Experience with skid steers or mini excavators
Background in environmental, construction, or demolition work

Competitive hourly pay based on experience (typically $25
$32/hr)
