Assembler

The Assembler performs repetitive bench and machine-assisted assembly operations to produce corrugated products. This role involves reading work orders, assembling components using hand tools and equipment, operating staplers or presses, inspecting parts for quality, and packaging finished materials. The position requires consistent lifting of 1530 lbs and working on a day shift.
Responsibilities

Perform repetitive bench and machine-assisted assembly operations to produce corrugated products according to specifications.
Read and interpret work orders to understand assembly requirements, materials, and production priorities.
Assemble corrugated products using appropriate hand tools, staplers, presses, and related equipment.
Operate staplers, presses, and other production machinery safely and efficiently to meet quality and productivity standards.
Inspect parts and assembled products for defects, accuracy, and adherence to quality standards.
Package finished materials securely and accurately, preparing them for storage or shipment.
Handle and move materials and finished products, consistently lifting 1530 lbs as part of daily tasks.
Maintain a clean and organized work area to support safety and efficient production.
Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while using tools, machinery, and equipment.
Work collaboratively with team members and communicate any production issues or quality concerns to the appropriate personnel.
Essential Skills

At least 1 year of assembly experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
Ability to consistently lift and move 1530 lbs throughout the shift.
Experience with production and assembly processes, including repetitive tasks.
Ability to use hand tools safely and effectively for mechanical and general assembly tasks.
Basic mechanical aptitude to operate staplers, presses, and other simple production machinery.
Ability to read and follow work orders and basic written instructions.
Attention to detail to ensure proper assembly, inspection, and packaging of products.
Reliability and ability to work scheduled hours on a consistent basis.
Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience in general labor roles within a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
Familiarity with mechanical assembly tasks involving corrugated or similar materials.
Comfort working in a fast-paced, production-driven environment.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team to meet production goals.

Work Environment

This is a hands-on production role in a manufacturing setting focused on corrugated products. The standard shift runs from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Monday, providing consistent daytime hours. Work is performed at benches and on or near production machinery such as staplers and presses, using hand tools and other basic equipment. The environment involves standing for extended periods, performing repetitive tasks, and regularly lifting 1530 lbs. Employees are expected to follow safety procedures and wear appropriate work attire suitable for a manufacturing and general labor environment.
Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Traverse City, MI.
Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
