Restorative Aide

The Restorative Aide assists residents with follow up maintenance of rehabilitation services including, but not limited to, mobility, personal hygiene and feeding.
Entry qualifications include a minimum of a high school diploma/GED, satisfactory completion of an approved nurse aide training program and testing, as required by the state, and must be in good standing with the Nurse Aide Registry. Ability to communicate effectively, read, write and follow oral and written instructions, and 1-3 years nursing assistance experience. Demonstrate the ability to successfully perform rehabilitation services.
Essential duties and responsibilities include providing personal care to residents, maintaining resident and work areas in a clean, orderly and safe manner, assisting residents with preventative, therapeutic and restorative procedures, adhering to safety and infection control policies and procedures according to Standard Precautions, completing required documentation, reporting changes in resident conditions, accidents or incidents, supporting and assisting Activities Services, reporting defective equipment or other potential safety hazards, working with residents, families, members of the health care team and other employees in a pleasant, respectful, cooperative manner, attending inservice programs as required by facility and state/federal guidelines, respecting and maintaining resident's dignity, individuality, privacy and confidentiality and knowledge of Residents' Bill of Rights, promoting positive public relations for the facility, providing rehabilitative services to maintain and restore resident's maximum achievable self-care ability, participating in resident care conferences as requested, instructing nursing personnel on recommended maintenance procedures that are performed when a resident is discharged from restorative program, conducting exercise program, performing weight checks, using various weighing devices, and performing other duties as assigned.
