Quality Inspector
Tosoh Quartz, Inc. (TQI), the world's leading manufacturer of quartz glassware for the semiconductor industry, is hiring an experienced Quality Inspector at our Durham facility to help ensure our products meet the highest levels of precision and compliance. This is a hands-on role where your contributions directly impact our quality outcomes and customer satisfaction.
What you'll do at Tosoh Quartz:
Compile and maintain quality records
Prepare and submit First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs)
Perform general quality tasks (goods-in, visual inspection)
Investigate non-conformities and support countermeasure implementation
Audit quality processes throughout manufacturing
Operate laser equipment and calibrate measuring tools
Provide cross-departmental support when needed
What you bring:
Minimum requirements:
Engineering certificate and 1 year of related experience.
Ability to read complex engineering drawings and GD&T
Proficient with measuring tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, height gauges)
Strong attention to detail
Basic math proficiency
Comfortable using Microsoft Office and email
Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers
Willingness to learn and adapt
Experience with micrometers, dial indicators, profilometers, optical comparators, and microscopes.
Preferred:
3+ years of experience as a Quality Inspector
Experience with CMM and customer portal submissions
Familiarity with compiling quality records and auditing processes
