Associate Plastic Technician (Open)
Key Responsibilities
Entry level colleague who participates in training, learning about Greif systems, and assisting to set up, monitor and troubleshoot blow molding, injection molding, or extrusion molding machinery.
Assists in the setup of machinery for different production runs, following established procedures to ensure smooth transitions. Communicates machinery issues to maintenance.
Assists in the operation of plastic molding, extrusion, and other plastic processing equipment.
Learns and helps monitor the production process, ensuring that machines are running efficiently and producing high-quality products.
Performs routine maintenance duties on cleaning and basic adjustments to machinery.
Troubleshoots minor machine issues under the supervision of senior technicians.
Documents production data, maintenance activities, and quality data observed during the production.
Performs basic quality control checks, ensuring products meet required specifications and industry standards.
Participates in quality assurance activities such as inspection and testing of products.
Works closely with senior technicians, operators, and supervisors to ensure daily production operation.
Follows standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety guidelines while performing tasks.
Prepares raw materials and additives for use in production.
Loads materials into machinery and ensure proper feeding during production runs.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
Typically possesses a High School diploma (or equivalent) and 0-2 years of experience.
Knowledge & Skills
Basic understanding of plastic manufacturing processes.
Ability to follow instructions and standard operating procedures.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality assurance.
Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn machinery operations.
Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Adherence to safety protocols and regulations in a manufacturing setting.
Willingness to learn and develop new skills.
Ability to operate powered industrial equipment, including forklifts.
Compensation Range:
The pay range for this position is $18.94 - $32.21. Typically, a competitive wage for new hires will fall between $23.00 to $23.00. Offers for this position may vary based on market data and other factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location. If the competitive wage is equal in both fields, the starting rate is the same for all applicants that apply for this role. The starting rate is not representative of future compensation increases. The position may also be eligible for a short-term incentive.
