Dental Assistant
Join our dynamic clinic team as a Dental Assistant, where you will play a crucial role in supporting dental students in a professional and patient-focused environment. You will work closely with faculty, patient care managers, dental student providers, and treatment coordinators to ensure smooth clinic operations and exceptional patient care.
Responsibilities
Assist undergraduate and graduate dental students chair side, including tray setup and patient scheduling.
Maintain clinic cleanliness and facilitate the opening and closing of the clinic.
Deliver and retrieve instruments to and from sterilization, ensuring proper setup of operatories.
Confirm lab cases are ready for delivery and schedule patient appointments.
Maintain an inventory of clinical supplies and ensure operatories are neat, clean, and adequately stocked.
Adhere to Infection Control Protocols, including wearing appropriate attire and eyewear.
Perform sterilization duties and assist in room preparation and cleanup.
Essential Skills
Graduation from a Dental Assistant program.
Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
Radiology certificate and Infection Control Certificate.
Minimum of 1 year of dental assisting experience.
Knowledge of infection control and sterilization processes.
Ability to assist in patient care and dental operations.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required.
If registered, need to be a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA).
Experience with X-rays and hygiene practices.
Work Environment
The Dental Assistant will work within the College of Dental Medicine, an office environment with about 68 chairs, serving approximately 78 patients daily. This fast-paced environment is distinct from private practice, with a focus on sterilization (50%), dispensary (25%), and floor duties (25%). Work hours are Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. The culture is very close-knit, fostering a family-like atmosphere. The dress code requires professional attire, black scrubs, closed-toe shoes, and no jewelry.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr.
