Clinic Patient Care Technician (PCT)
The Clinic Patient Care Technician (PCT) is an integral part of our healthcare team, providing essential support and performing non-licensed tasks under the supervision of Registered Nurses. PCTs assist nurses, PAs, physicians, and the Ortho team with clinic procedures, surgery scheduling, and various administrative and clinic duties. This role is crucial in ensuring the seamless delivery of patient care to our Razorback Clinic patients. We are seeking to fill numerous full-time and part-time Patient Care Technician (PCT) positions.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED
Successful completion of the patient care technician course within three(3) months of hire
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Patient Care: The PCT must demonstrate proficiency in providing basic patient care
Patient Safety: The PCT must adhere to established patient safety protocols and guidelines, ensuring the safety of both patients and staff members
Communication: Effective communication skills are essential as the PCT interacts with patients, their families, and other healthcare team members.
Documentation: Accurate and timely documentation of all patient-related activities is required, including vital signs, intake/output, and medication administration
Organization: The PCT must possess strong organizational skills, including maintaining clean and organized work environments and accurately tracking patient supplies.
Teamwork: Collaboration with the healthcare team is essential, as the PCT supports and assists with patient care needs.
Physical stamina and the ability to work under pressure are essential qualities; Must be able to lift 50 lbs to waist height.
Preferred Qualifications:
Patient care experience in an acute care setting
Experience with casting/splinting
Experience with blood draws
Key Responsibilities:
Collects and documents assessment data and provides patient education
Assist with patient physicals and lab draws
Responds to patient questions appropriately and addresses patient concerns.
Interacts with and assists the public in a professional and friendly manner as needed.
Demonstrates effective communication skills; communicates accurate and complete information; maintains strict confidentiality when necessary.
Demonstrates positive working relationships with co-workers, management team, and ancillary departments
Follow the Core Concepts of Patient and Family Centered Care and the Basic Code of Conduct Guidelines
Provide medical coverage for UAMS-contracted sporting and racing events
Assist with administrative duties, including insurance verification/authorization and surgery scheduling
Salary Information: Commensurate with education and experience
