Orthodontic Dental Assistant

Join the Valley Advanced Orthodontics Team! We are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Orthodontic Dental Assistant to support our growing team. In this role, you'll assist the orthodontist during clinical procedures, manage supplies, and contribute to the overall success of the clinical operations. The ideal candidate is adaptable, detail-oriented, and committed to providing outstanding care. Travel between our locations is required, as this position supports multiple offices as we continue to grow as an office.
Qualified individuals must have the ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform the following duties:
Perform clinical procedures as directed by the orthodontist, including changing wires
Assist doctor in explaining treatment plan and progress
Review instructions with patient/parent
Assist doctor in fitting/delivering orthodontic appliances and all other clinical office needs
Maintain supplies and carts
Update treatment card notes for each visit
Review patients health history and update changes after seating
Radiography patients as needed
Take records (scan and load photographs)
Maintains clean treatment rooms in compliance with all CDC and OSHA regulations
Sets up and turns over room in efficient manner
Maintains and sterilizes dental equipment
Performs other duties as requested by Practice Administrator or dentists
Notifies Practice Administrator in timely manner and according to policy when out sick
Check Appliances delivered to the office before appointment

Requirements What You'll Bring:
Graduate of a Dental Assistant program (or graduating within the next 3 months)
1 year of orthodontic assisting experience or strong interest in orthodontics
Pennsylvania X-ray License or the ability to obtain one within 3 months of hire
CPR Certification (in-house training provided)
Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
Knowledge of and adherence to OSHA, HIPAA, and Infection Control protocols
Required clearances: Child Abuse, Criminal Background, and FBI Fingerprinting
Preferred (Not Required): Experience with Open Dental software Previous experience working with children and families in a dental setting
