Chemical Worker- Rail Professional
At Harcros Chemicals Inc., an employee-owned company with a rich legacy in specialty chemical manufacturing and distribution, we're continuously expanding. With 2 manufacturing plants and 27 distribution facilities across 20 states, we're seeking a dedicated Chemical Worker- Rail professional to join our team to assist with opportunities. Reporting to the Operations Manager this role will be responsible for loading, unloading, and transporting materials within the facility, including managing containers.
Primary Responsibilities & Duties:
Reads work orders or follows verbal instructions to identify materials or containers to be moved.
Operates tractor or forklift equipment to load and unload materials from trucks and rail cars.
Loads and unloads tank trucks and railcars.
Fills drums, totes, tankers, railcars, and pails, ensuring proper mixing, blending, and packaging of hazardous and non-hazardous chemicals in compliance with environmental standards and regulations.
Transports materials from storage or work sites to designated areas.
Operates industrial vehicles (tractors or forklift) to assist in material handling.
Other duties may be assigned.
Job duties may also result in:
Generate, handle, and/or inspect hazardous waste and hazardous waste storage.
Respond or manage hazardous waste spills and incidents based on the site's emergency action or contingency plan.
Prepare and manage hazardous waste records such as manifests, inspection logs, waste determination and other reports.
Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Minimum 6 months of related experience and/or training.
Forklift certification preferred.
And/or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals.
Capable of writing routine reports and correspondence and communicating effectively in group settings.
Problem-solving skills in standardized situations.

Physical Capabilities & Requirements:
Ability to lift/move up to 25 pounds regularly, 50 pounds frequently, and up to 75 pounds occasionally.
Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle objects or tools, reach with arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Work Environment:
Exposure to hazardous fumes or odors.
Noise level is moderate to loud.
Will frequently work in outdoor weather conditions.
