Apprenticeship Program - Pre-Apprentice Industrial Manufacturing Production Technician

Apprenticeship Program - Pre-Apprentice Industrial Manufacturing Production Technician
The Pre-Apprentice Industrial Manufacturing Production Technician is an entry-level position designed to introduce individuals to careers in modern manufacturing. Participants will gain hands-on experience operating industrial production equipment, using manufacturing tools, and performing essential production and assembly processes across a variety of manufacturing environments.
This structured pre-apprenticeship provides foundational skills, workplace exposure, and career readiness training to prepare individuals for registered apprenticeship opportunities that are available and that they qualify for.
Step 1: Application - after completing your application, you will receive an introductory phone call. Prior to committing to the program, a training center walk-through is available.
Step 2: Screening - following program acceptance, a criminal background check and drug screen is required to ensure each candidate has the ability to be successful in the safety sensitive environments.
Step 3: First 30 days - the initial days of paid training include a combination of self-paced online modules partnered with hands-on training.
Step 4: Employee/Employer trial period - provides an opportunity to complete a 30-day trial period to showcase your competencies and determine if the opportunity aligns with your passion.
Step 5: Full employment with benefits after the employee and employer mutually decides there is a good fit!
Key Responsibilities
Assist in setting up, operating, monitoring, and controlling industrial production equipment
Use hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices safely and effectively
Support manufacturing and assembly operations following standard work instructions
Observe and assist with quality control and inspection processes
Participate in continuous improvement activities to help enhance manufacturing processes and production schedules
Follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations
Work collaboratively with supervisors, mentors, and production team members
On-the-Job Training - Pre-Apprentices will receive structured on-the-job training covering a variety of manufacturing and assembly work experiences.
Training will be delivered based on actual workflow and production needs
The sequence of training may vary and will not necessarily follow a fixed order
Estimated training times reflect the average learning pace and serve as a guideline only
The total length of the pre-apprenticeship program is designed to prepare participants for entry into registered apprenticeship programs that are available and that they qualify for
Candidate Qualifications: Requirements
18 yrs of age and High school diploma or GED (or ability to obtain)
Interest in industrial manufacturing and skilled trades
Ability to stand for extended periods
Ability to lift up to 4050 pounds (as required by the work environment)
Ability to work in a manufacturing setting with varying noise levels and temperatures
Ability to follow instructions and work in a team environment
Basic math and problem-solving skills
Basic computer skills
Willingness to learn and develop technical skills
Preferred: Previous exposure to manufacturing, technical education, or hands-on work Strong attendance and reliability Mechanical aptitude or interest in equipment and machinery
