Operator I
Operates and maintains sludge, dewatering treatment, processing, disposal and testing equipment in refinery/industrial facility to meet customer specifications under direct supervision.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
Keep work area neat and clean.
Collect liquid and solid samples and perform routine sampling.
Log and record process readings.
Perform unit rounds.
Assist in facility equipment preventative maintenance.
Assist in general maintenance of facility equipment.
Education/Experience/Background:
High School Diploma/GED is required.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Must demonstrate the ability to learn and independently operate assigned machines and equipment.
Must demonstrate ability to learn and independently operate equipment such as pumps, centrifuges, valves, mixers, conveyors, blowers, dryers, chemical feed, odor control, disinfection equipment, sludge processing filters, measuring, control devices, testing equipment and material handling equipment.
Must demonstrate ability to work in a team environment and willingness to assume additional or new responsibilities.
To achieve competency of Operator I the employee must perform hands on training and demonstrate knowledge in the following areas:
Basic hand tools
Basic mechanics
Lubricants and lubrication
General housekeeping
Bearings
Pumps
Piping systems
Required Certification/Licenses/Training:
Basic orientation Industrial Basic Plus.
Site specific.
40 Hr HAZWOPER.
PSM training.
Annual safety modules.
Standard operating procedures.
Facility safety plans and programs.
LOTO.
MSA/JSA training.
Short service employee training (behavior based training).
CIAB VNA computer based training.
