Job Overview
The Shipping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all daily outbound shipping activities, ensuring operations are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company and regulatory standards. This role provides leadership to shipping personnel, manages workflow, and ensures product movement, documentation, and team performance meet operational expectations.
What does your day look like?
Some of your duties may include:
Oversee daily outbound shipping operations to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness.
Monitor team compliance with warehouse procedures, safety standards, and company policies.
Ensure proper material handling, product rotation, and food safety practices are followed.
Supervise and support shipping team members to maintain productivity and performance.
Track employee hours, attendance, and overtime to support operational efficiency.
Ensure shipping areas are clean, organized, and prepared for the next shift.
Maintain the safety, quality, and legality of all food products during shipping.
Communicate effectively with warehouse, transportation, and management teams to resolve issues.
Things you need to be able to do:
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Excellent communication skills and ability to lead and work independently.
Ability to lift up to 75 lbs., carry up to 50 lbs., and push/pull up to 30 lbs. of force.
Ability to ascend and descend steps up to 10 inches in height.
Ability to stand for extended periods of time and perform repetitive movements such as bending and reaching.
Ability to work in cold environments for extended periods.
Things that are a plus but not a deal-breaker:
High School Diploma or equivalent required; additional education is a plus.
23 years of experience in warehouse, shipping, or distribution operations.
Experience supervising or leading a team in a warehouse environment.
Understanding of shift operations and warehouse workflows.
Pallet jack and forklift certification preferred.
