Production Supervisor
Direct manufacturing shift operations and manage utilization of equipment, facilities and personnel to obtain maximum efficiency and meet or exceed defined performance objectives. Drive individual shift to identify and meet or exceed all plant level and departmental KPI's. These include safety, quality, productivity and cost savings initiatives.
Ensures that the plant goals and objectives are achieved by managing the performance for their assigned areas focusing on 5S, quality, safety, uptime, cost control, and schedule attainment.
Develop and build successful shift team through training, succession planning and employee assessments at all hourly levels.
Develop, implement, and train team on standardized departmental practices and procedures, including implementation of best demonstrated practices.
Essential functions include:
Improve safety recordable rate through heightened awareness, safety audits and improvements in housekeeping. Ultimate goal is zero recordable and lost time injuries.
Achieve OEE budget for department by managing the effective utilization of equipment and personnel to maximize efficiency.
Manage departmental budget through daily, weekly and monthly reviews and daily cost control measures.
Direct departmental improvement activities by building cost reduction initiatives, capital project plan and improvement activities.
Implement continuous improvement through relentless focus on corrective, and more importantly, preventive actions and building this philosophy throughout the organization.
Improve end product quality. Both on a cost basis and by meeting or exceeding customer expectations.
Develop effective team. Set clear goals and objectives, give tools to succeed and give responsibility and authority to make decisions.
Hold safety meetings and team meetings as needed.
Trouble shoot machine issues and quality forming defects. Manage employee poor work performance
rule violations, excessive absenteeism, fitness for duty status, etc.
Job qualifications include:
Knowledge of manufacturing
production schedules, overtime procedures; strong PC skills
including Word, Outlook, Excel; HALO, BPCS, ability to multi task and have strong ability to problem solve; have good people skills; strong communication skills
both verbal and electronic; become familiar with all company procedures, past practices and the current CBA. Have a solid mechanical aptitude. High school diploma; college diploma is desirable; have 3-5 years of progressive responsibility and experience with high volume
manufacturing environment. Have a proven track record of success managing a multi-process or departmental production group
5-10 years of experience supervising a manufacturing group is desirable.
Salary: $72,000+ DOE
Environment:
Work within a manufacturing environment. Work in various ambient temperatures. Sit, stand, walk, and bend frequently during a normal work shift. Be able to distinguish close tolerances in raw materials and finished goods
including print registration, colors and alignment.
