Description

We're looking for certified nursing assistants (cnas) for an immediate travel opening in yakima, wa. The right cna should have 1 year of experience in a psychiatric or behavioral health setting. Read below for more requirements.
As a cna in a psychiatric facility, you will support the nursing and mental health team in providing safe, therapeutic care for patients experiencing mental health conditions. You will assist with daily living activities, monitor patient behavior, and help maintain a stable and supportive environment.
As a cna, you should be prepared to perform the following tasks:
Assist patients with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
Observe and document patient behavior, mood, and safety concerns
Support patient mobility and transfers while maintaining safety protocols
Assist with de-escalation techniques and follow facility protocols for crisis situations
Participate in therapeutic activities and encourage patient engagement
Maintain a safe, clean, and structured environment in patient areas
Communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team regarding patient care and observations
Respect and uphold patient rights, privacy, and dignity
Assist in monitoring patients under close observation or suicide precautions as needed
Follow all infection control, safety, and behavioral health guidelines
The ideal candidate must have at least one year of experience as a certified nurse aid in an acute care setting. Additionally, they should possess a current bls certification, hold the nnaap national certification and be eligible for state licensure
Psychiatric cnas must be calm under pressure, observant, compassionate, and able to maintain boundaries while supporting patients in vulnerable situations.
Requirements*: bls, 2 years * additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment.
