Quality Inspector

We are seeking a dedicated Quality Inspector to join our team and play a crucial role in ensuring the quality of our manufactured products. This position involves final inspection, reading blueprints, and using various measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers. Although primarily based in a lab, the role requires periodic presence on the production floor.
Responsibilities
Inspect manufactured devices/articles at First Article, in-process, incoming, and Final Inspections according to customer and company specifications.
Perform accurate mechanical, physical, and visual inspections of raw materials, components, and assemblies per inspection plans or specification requirements.
Determine whether products conform to product specifications.
Initiate non-conformance reports as required.
Detect, correct, and prevent waste or loss of raw materials or partially finished products.
Train employees in proper inspection procedures.
Prevent damage through carelessness to the equipment or processes used in the job.
Collaborate with all departments to provide assistance when needed.
Follow ISO quality management system procedures.
Adhere to safety and environmental procedures.
Follow written and verbal directions from managers and company officers.
Perform non-routine tasks assigned by managers and company officers.
Essential Skills
Proficiency in inspection and quality control techniques.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
Skill in using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools.
Experience in visual inspection and quality checks.
Competence in deburring, grinding, buffing, and polishing.
Familiarity with CMM operation and final inspection processes.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Strong math skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
Ability to convert metric units to English units and vice versa.
Reasoning skills to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
Capability to work independently with computer software.
Physical skills to use standard measuring and testing devices.
Ability to read complex drawings and specifications.
Strong oral communication skills with all plant personnel.

Work Environment
The typical shift is 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM from Monday to Friday, with one Saturday a month required due to current high demand. Employees will work both in a lab setting and on the production floor. The role involves standing or sitting for extended periods, frequent use of hand tools, and handling small and large parts. Employees must occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds. The work requires continuous mental and visual attention and the ability to handle repetitive or diversified tasks. Dress code is casual but must adhere to safety standards.

This is a Contract position based out of Florence, AL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
