Welder I - 1st Shift
Location: Smithfield, NC, US
Shift: 1st Hours: Monday - Friday 5:30am - 2 pm with overtime

Primary Responsibilities:
Reading and interpreting blue prints and product specifications
Using Hand Tools and measuring devices to perform basic tasks
Using power tools and welding equipment to perform complex tasks
Working within teams or independently as directed
Complete required assembly activities for an assigned cell while consistently maintaining product quality and safe work practices
Meet and maintain daily production rates & goals as established and required by the company
Read and follow standard work instructions. Keep Supervisor / Group Lead/Manufacturing Technicians informed of cell activity including but not limited to information related to quality, personal, parts supply, and safety issues that may occur within the scope of responsibility
Complete all required cell activities and documentation for assigned work cell as requested by supervisor. Attend all required training
Assure a quality focus is maintained at all times
Address all quality and safety concerns via the appropriate channel for an assigned cell
Participate in all required continuous improvement activities as requested or required by the company
Utilize Lean concepts and provided tool tools in order to improve the production process
Assure work environment is clean, orderly and free of safety hazards at all times
Actively participate in all department projects, tasks, and objectives including but not limited to continuous improvement activities
Maintain the highest ethical standards as well as absolute personal and intellectual integrity, mature judgment, and innate cooperative nature
Other activities as needed and requested
Position Requirements:
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and product specifications
Working knowledge of hand tools, power tools and welding/fabrication equipment
Must be able to read and follow blueprints, drawings and schematics
1-3 years' experience specializing in fabrication and/or welding (MIG, TIG and Stick welding processes, cutting torch, plasma cutting, etc.)
Adhere to all required company policies
Ability to work all scheduled and adjusted times, and or work overtime to accommodate production
Ability to effectively train associates and manage required documentation
Willing and able to wear all required personal protective equipment
Standing for long periods of time Bend/stoop, climb, reach above shoulder, kneel and squat occasionally
Be able to lift up to 50 lbs. manually on a repetitive basis
