Front Gate Attendant
The Ballpark at League City is a premier recreational facility offering a diverse range of activities for youth and adults. Our facility boasts bat and ball turf fields, indoor arenas for soccer and flag football, sand volleyball courts, and a vibrant atmosphere with two restaurants serving a full menu and alcohol beverages. In addition to sport events, the facility also hosts special events, private gatherings, and provides a hub for community engagement and active lifestyles. The Front Gate Attendant is the parks front line customer service position providing a positive and welcoming experience for all individuals arriving at the facility. This includes greeting guests, admission transactions, inspecting bags, and assisting guests with park questions.
Job Functions
Greet park visitors and players.
Provide information about facilities, food and beverage options, and rules and regulations.
Process admission transactions including cash, card, or mobile payment and ensuring charges are accurate.
Performs related work as required.
Qualifications
Education, Certification, License and Experience
High school diploma or GED, or currently attending high school
Other Qualifications or Requirements
Flexible schedule to work evenings and weekends.

Knowledge:
Basic math skills to accurately make change
City policies and procedures
Various City Ordinances affecting use of the parks
Other applicable policies, rules, and regulations governing the conduct and safety with public recreation activities
Skills:
A positive recreation environment and good personal behavior
Monitor parks and guests for violations of rules and safety standards
Moderate level of technological competency
Excellent customer service skills; ability to communicate effectively with the public, using tact and professionalism
Act quickly and calmly in emergency situations
Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with co-workers and the general public
Interact with people of different social, economic, and ethnic backgrounds
Communicate effectively verbally and in writing
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Work is performed both outdoors and in an office environment.
This position classifies the physical exertion requirements as light work involving lifting no more than 20 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds. If someone can do light work, we determine that he or she can also do sedentary work.
