About the Role
The Company is in search of a Global Head of Business Development to lead a dynamic team of sector-focused business development leaders. The successful candidate will be a senior business development and marketing leader with a minimum of 15 years' experience in a law firm environment, adept at shaping strategy with senior partners, executives, and board-level stakeholders. This role demands a highly client-focused individual, motivated by enhancing relationship quality and commercial outcomes, and a strong communicator capable of influencing and presenting at the most senior levels. The Global Head will be responsible for leading a global team, partnering with firm leadership to evolve the strategic role of sectors, and shaping a firmwide sector go-to-market approach. Prior experience in sector- or industry-led models is preferred.
Key responsibilities for the Global Head of Business Development include aligning sector initiatives with practice, office, and regional business development efforts, using data and insights to guide sector investment, and identifying market trends and commercial opportunities that span multiple industries. The role also involves strengthening engagement with partners and sector leaders to drive shared priorities. Success in this position is defined by the development of clear, unified sector strategies, stronger client development practices, increased collaboration, and measurable growth in client relationships within priority industries. The ideal candidate will be a proven manager and mentor of senior-level business development professionals, organized, resilient, and capable of managing multiple priorities under pressure.
