B&A is looking for an Accounting & Finance Manager to join our Huntsville, Alabama headquarters team in support of an important mission and our Integrated Products Division (IPD). In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with a collaborative, growth-minded team while supporting federal contracts around the country. We are seeking a self-motivated, dedicated, detail-oriented, and team-driven individual to join our team. The Accounting & Finance Manager will be responsible for managing and overseeing financial aspects of inventory management, financial reporting, cost accounting, budgeting and forecasting, projects, and ensuring accurate and timely accounting and reporting.
Manage project inventory using the Unanet AIM system
Create reports to track inventory, purchasing needs, and project performance
Plan and monitor material spending over a rolling 13-week period
Coordinate closely with Finance to align budgets and spending
Set up and manage project accounts and cost structures
Work with leadership on indirect rates and cost strategies
Handle monthly financial close (reconcile accounts, record expenses like freight/warranty)
Review and approve vendor invoices and ensure contract compliance
Monitor vendor performance and delivery timelines
Manage customer invoicing from start to finish
Help reduce overdue payments by working with receivables
Prepare government reports and sales tax filings
Support audits with accurate financial documentation
Maintain contracts, change orders, and billing records
Provide financial insights on project performance to leadership
Support budgeting and forecasting processes
Communicate supply chain risks that may impact financial goals
Work across Finance, Procurement, and project teams to align costs and planning
Act as a main point of contact for customer billing and financial questions
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
5+ years of relevant work experience.
Proven experience as an Accounting Manager, or in a similar role.
2+ years with experience with DCAA cost accounting.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Experience with modeling, financial planning and analysis reporting, and monthly accounting reporting
Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
CPA or CMA certification.
Experience with project accounting in the construction or engineering industry.
Familiarity with ERP systems, specifically Unanet.
Advanced excel skills.
Experience in preparing government reports and tax returns related to projects.
Must be eligible for a clearance
