
Maintenance Technician

New opportunity with a major leader in Cell Therapy manufacturing that’s expanding its Technical Operations team and looking to hire a Maintenance Technician Specialist to support critical clinical and commercial manufacturing operations at their Raritan, NJ facility.
This is a full‑time, on‑site role supporting cGMP production on a modified third shift. You’ll act as a key technical resource responsible for maintaining mechanical systems, HVAC, clean‑room utilities, and complex process equipment within a state‑of‑the‑art Cell Therapy manufacturing facility preparing for commercial launch and sustained production.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain HVAC, refrigeration, clean‑room HVAC, clean steam, cryogenic storage systems, and process equipment
Perform maintenance activities across plumbing, pipefitting, millwright work, utilities, and mechanical systems
Execute minor facility upgrades and system installations
Conduct on‑site equipment and critical utilities maintenance, supporting manufacturing equipment projects, cost improvements, asset management, and reliability initiatives
Support facility project initiatives as needed
Maintain compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and licensing requirements
Perform reactive, preventive, and predictive maintenance across HVAC, refrigeration, mechanical, and plumbing systems
Read and interpret blueprints, P&IDs, and technical drawings
Utilize GDP-compliant documentation for all CMMS work orders
Troubleshoot, plan, and anticipate system issues, taking proactive corrective actions
Remove and repair defective parts using hoists, lifts, hand tools, and power tools
Repair instrumentation, electrical devices, circuits, motors, and switchgear (up to 600V)
Operate, monitor, and maintain electrical switchgear
Support building automation systems including PLCs, HMIs, sensors, and associated components
Work with validated and qualified equipment in cGMP environments
Uphold all training requirements and regulatory compliance (FDA, EPA, OSHA, DEA, TSA)
Support maintenance-related quality events such as deviations, OOTs, change controls, RCA, and FMEA
Contribute to annual maintenance goals, continuous improvement projects, and metric-driven initiatives
Work independently with minimal oversight and provide shift flexibility/on‑call support as needed
What We’re Looking For:
Technical degree, trade certification, or high school diploma with equivalent experience
4+ years of experience in an industrial manufacturing or regulated environment
Proficiency in more than one craft (HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, etc.)
cGMP or clean‑room experience strongly preferred
HVAC and clean‑room system maintenance experience
CMMS experience required
Strong communication skills and proficiency in English
Working knowledge of building automation, environmental monitoring, PLCs, VFDs, instrumentation, and electrical practices
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving abilities
Ability to manage shifting priorities in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment
Strong organizational skills and commitment to continuous improvement
Ability to work independently with limited supervision
