The ICU RN role provides
care for critically ill patients , including medical, surgical, cardiac, and trauma cases, while supporting patient and family education and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities
Assess, plan, intervene, and evaluate care for critically ill patients
Administer medications per physician orders and monitor patient responses
Maintain and review patient records, including tests and examination results
Instruct patients and families on medications, treatments, and care plans
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare staff to optimize patient outcomes
Required:
Florida RN license or appropriate compact license (FL license required within 60 days if compact)
Nursing required;
BSN preferred
Minimum
1 year recent ICU experience
(MICU/SICU/)
BLS certification (American Heart Association)
ACLS certification within 6 months of hire/transfer
NIHSS certification within 6 months of hire/transfer
Strong critical thinking, interpersonal, and communication skills
Rotating night shifts with weekends
Critical care population: medical, surgical, cardiac, trauma
