Compensation Range: $30-35/hour

Cella is seeking a talented Senior Packaging Designer for "Accessories & Trend" at our client, an American multinational off‑price department store corporation, for a 5‑month contract in Framingham, MA.

The Packaging/Senior Packaging Designer is an integral member of a cross‑functional team that delivers trend‑forward brand packaging solutions, enabling businesses and brands to evolve across our global divisions. As the creative force responsible for driving the development of all packaging and branding across selected categories, you will oversee supplier relationships to ensure packaging quality and deadlines are met. You will partner with Product Development and Buyers to identify and create successful brand packaging, and direct team members, freelancers, and contractors in the design, content, and execution of trend‑right branding solutions.

Responsibilities

Oversee the creation of trend‑forward brand packaging across various home categories.

Partner with product development and merchandising to meet lifestyle needs by product category and influence the organization on design decisions.

Collaborate with Sr. Product Development Managers, Trend Teams, and Divisional Manager to create compelling brand packaging.

Ensure vendor packaging quality through an established approval process and maintain all deadlines.

Create and direct brand packaging for a wide variety of products (boxes, hangtags, labels, etc.).

Prioritize and direct designers, freelancers, interns, and/or contractors in design and content creation.

Follow through from conception to shelf—providing approvals and overseeing successful execution of all components before press and delivery; communicate with product development and regulatory teams throughout the design process, including reviewing and proofing packaging.

Maintain strict adherence to T&A and deadlines, establishing acceptable tolerances in print/color/construction while implementing methods to improve efficiencies.

Manage photography and photography requirements for packages—direct styling, ensure photo quality, content, and meet timeline requirements.

Partner with legal and trademark administrators to research new brand names and ensure all legal/trademark requirements are met.

Perform special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

BFA or related degree in design preferred.

A minimum of 5–8 years of design‑related experience.

Proven results managing multi‑disciplinary design teams or designers.

Demonstrated experience guiding business stakeholders through the design process, delivering vision and maintaining brand integrity.

Ability to think across multiple platforms, including product, merchandising, and new forms of brand communication.

Management experience required to influence, drive change, and drive vision.

In‑depth knowledge of design and cultural trends to develop cohesive design solutions.

Excellent sense of color, type, and style.

Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and presentation skills.

Ability to prioritize, handle multiple projects, and work well under pressure.

Fluency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign) and supporting office programs.
