Job Title: Network Engineer (Cisco – Mergers & Acquisitions)
Location: Houston, TX (Hybrid / Onsite Required)
Duration: 4–6 Month Contract
Job Description:
- We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer with strong Cisco infrastructure expertise and proven experience supporting Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) activities. This role will focus on network integration, migration, staging, deployment, and support of enterprise network environments during acquisition and merger transitions.
- The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Cisco routing, switching, firewalls, wireless, and WAN/LAN infrastructure, along with the ability to work onsite in Houston and support occasional weekend staging and cutover activities.
- This is a fast-paced contract opportunity for someone who can quickly step in, assess existing environments, and execute network integration plans with minimal supervision.
Required Skills:
- Strong experience as a Network Engineer / Senior Network Engineer
- Must have hands-on experience supporting Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) projects
- Deep expertise in Cisco technologies
- Routing & Switching
- Firewalls
- LAN / WAN
- Wireless Networks
- VPN / Network Security
- VoIP (preferred)
- Experience with network staging, deployment, and migration activities
- Ability to support weekend work for staging, cutovers, and implementation
- Must be located in Houston, TX and able to work onsite as needed
- Strong troubleshooting and infrastructure support skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination abilities
Preferred Qualifications:
- CCNA or CCNP certification highly preferred
- Experience with enterprise network migrations and integration planning
- Experience working in large-scale corporate environments
- Ability to start within 2 weeks of offer
Responsibilities:
- Support network infrastructure during mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures
- Plan and execute network migrations, cutovers, and integrations
- Configure and troubleshoot Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless systems
- Coordinate staging and deployment activities during weekends when required
- Work closely with infrastructure, security, and business teams
- Ensure network stability, security, and minimal downtime during transitions
- Document network changes, configurations, and implementation plans
