Creative Manager — Deliverance Charities
Position Type: Volunteer (unpaid)

Department: Digital Marketing

Reports To: President & Executive Team

Length: at least 3 months

Will Oversee: Social Media, Digital Ads, Design and Audio Production

Position Overview
The Creative Manager leads the vision, style, and emotional direction of Deliverance Charities’ storytelling. This role ensures all creative content—visual, audio, ads, and digital—reflects the mission to develop, inspire, and empower individuals and communities. They will guide the storytelling style for our book series, Tales from the Unfortunate series, Social campaigns, and digital content, turning real journeys of transformation into powerful visual and narrative experiences.

Key Responsibilities

Creative Leadership & Vision

Establish and maintain the creative direction for all storytelling visual and audio projects.

Translate the nonprofit’s mission into emotionally resonant stories, visuals, and campaigns.

Ensure consistency across all visual art, video, and promotional content.

Storytelling Art Style Guidelines & Development

Build and maintain Storytelling Art Style Guidelines that define visual narrative development.

Shape how real experiences and fictional stories are presented to reflect Deliverance Charities’ values.

Music background development

Manage Creative Production

Oversee illustrators, designers, music producers, and digital creators and ads.

Review drafts, artwork, scenes, and scripts for quality, tone, and alignment.

Provide clear direction, creative briefs, and feedback to keep projects on track.

Coordinate multi‑disciplinary teams to produce visual‑based storytelling content, such as

Digital illustrations

Scene‑based marketing visuals

Short emotional videos

Graphic novels or story panels

Story‑driven social media campaigns

Develop content from existing and new stories

Adapt written stories into visual formats (illustrations, scenes, teasers, animated snippets).

Convert completed chapters or short stories into promotional materials.

Oversee the transformation of stories into

Social media visuals

Design development of PDFs

Web content

Teaser trailers

Story summaries and character profiles

Project Planning & Workflow Management

Organize creative timelines and ensure deadlines are met.

Manage multiple storytelling projects simultaneously.

Collaborate with Content Strategy and Resource Development teams for events, campaigns, and fundraising visuals.

Goals of the Role

Build a unified creative identity for Deliverance Charities’ storytelling.

Increase audience emotional engagement through powerful, visually driven content.

Expand the storytelling universe (books, episodes, character side stories, scene‑based visuals).

Support fundraising, awareness, and community building through story content.

Create repeatable guidelines so volunteers can confidently contribute high‑quality visual and written content.

Work Environment
Our team is collaborative and supportive, using tools Google Gmail, Chat and Space to stay connected and work efficiently.

Schedule

Self‑determined schedule

At least 10 hours a week; anything more is appreciated

Monthly updates and check‑ins submitted via email or chat.
