As a Sub-Station Electrician/Maintenance QEW for an established West Coast Utility Company, you will provide analysis and evaluations of drone and helicopter data from flights above and around our electric towers, poles and substations.
Responsibilities Review drone photos and identified any non-conformities of sub-station structures and assets.
Identify safety and/or maintenance issues and provide potential recommendations using their technical expertise.
Evaluate sub-station structures and assets strength, durability and quality.
Making changes to notifications in internal systems and ensure everything is accurately documented in necessary systems.
Analysis and review of structures include :
Reviewed drone photos and identified any non-conformities
Insulators, conductors, hardware, accessories and associated failure modes
Design of sub-station components, foundations and their related failure modes
Steel coatings, corrosion and remediation measures
Sub-station breakers and switches
Guy wire systems components and functions, foundations and hardware
Expected to work in a cross-functional environment to address exceptions and escalations that may arise.
Actively evaluate and review your own work for quality control at the end of the day to identify and proactively fix any errors prior to submission.
If requested, provide support, shadowing, or any assistance to new team members.
Requirements 5+ years of experience as a Sub-Station Electrician or equivalent experience, including transmission.
7+ years of experience as a Qualified Electrical Worker (QEW).
Proficient in industry standards relating to sub-station.
Previous experience of inspecting sub-station assets for safety concerns.
Previous experience of sub-station guy wire system components and functions.
Previous experience in sub-station steel coatings, corrosion, and remediation measures.
Good computer skills including Teams, Excel, File Management and Office 365.
Experience in SAP, Sherlock/iHawk, EDGIS, etc. is highly preferred.
Location: Remote Work in California highly preferred
