Position Summary
The Operations Manager is responsible for leading and optimizing all production activities within the facility, ensuring safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives are consistently achieved. This role oversees production teams and drives operational excellence through the implementation of Lean manufacturing principles, continuous improvement initiatives, and effective leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Lead daily manufacturing operations, overseeing production, staffing, and workflow to meet output and delivery targets
Manage and develop Production Supervisors and frontline teams, driving accountability, engagement, and performance
Champion Lean manufacturing initiatives (5S, Kaizen, waste reduction, standard work) to improve efficiency and reduce costs
Monitor and analyze KPIs (OEE, throughput, scrap, downtime) and implement corrective actions
Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory standards
Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, quality, and supply chain teams to resolve production issues and improve processes
Drive continuous improvement projects using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies
Develop and manage production schedules, capacity planning, and labor utilization
Identify and eliminate bottlenecks to improve overall plant performance
Oversee equipment utilization, maintenance coordination, and process reliability
Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for production and quality issues
Manage departmental budgets, cost controls, and operational efficiency
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and teamwork
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, or related field preferred
7–10+ years of manufacturing experience
3–5+ years of leadership experience overseeing production teams
Demonstrated experience implementing Lean manufacturing principles in a production environment
Experience in high-volume or process-driven manufacturing preferred
Skills & Competencies
Strong leadership and team development capabilities
Deep understanding of Lean manufacturing (5S, Kaizen, value stream mapping, waste reduction)
Data-driven mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Experience with production KPIs such as OEE, yield, scrap, and downtime
Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
Lean Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or Black Belt)
Experience with ERP/MES systems
Background in continuous improvement or operational excellence roles
