Pay:
$35–$37/hour

Los Angeles, CA (Hybrid – will go remote after 1st month)
Duration:
1-year contract (with potential extension or conversion)
Position Overview
On behalf of our client, a public utility client, we are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant I to support an Accounts Receivable team within a large, established energy company serving Southern California. This role will focus on processing and managing damage claims related to company assets, requiring strong accounting fundamentals and a customer-focused mindset.
Key Responsibilities
Process and manage accounts receivable transactions related to damage claims
Prepare and issue invoices, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery
Review and reconcile AR accounts and supporting documentation
Collaborate with internal teams to resolve billing discrepancies and ensure proper documentation
Maintain accurate financial records and support reporting activities
Utilize SAP and Excel to track, analyze, and manage financial data
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
(or 4–5 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree)
2–5 years of accounting experience, with a strong focus on Accounts Receivable
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Experience working with SAP (multiple modules preferred)
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage high-volume work
Preferred Qualifications
CPA certification
Experience in the utilities or energy industry
Exposure to invoicing, claims processing, or asset-related accounting
