Job Description
A client of Insight Global in the Lansing, MI area is seeking a Robotics Engineer to join their team! This individual will support advanced robotic systems in a high‑volume manufacturing environment, with a strong focus on 2D/3D vision, bin‑picking applications, robotic welding, material handling, and safety‑integrated robot programming. The individual will work hands‑on and in a training capacity to support skilled trades, providing advanced troubleshooting, preventive maintenance guidance, and long‑term robot health strategy. Responsibilities include commissioning and programming robots in both greenfield and brownfield environments, supporting new product and vehicle launches, and acting as the technical interface between the plant and the robot OEM. The role also contributes to continuous improvement, asset tracking, rebuilds, and future automation project guidance.
Required Skills & Experience
- 10+ years of experience programming Fanuc robots within a high-volume manufacturing environment
- 2D/3D IR vision, bin‑picking, robotic welding, material handling, and safety‑integrated robot programming experience
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Automotive industry experience
- Greenfield and brownfield programming experience
Compensation:
$40/hr to $55/hr
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
