Client Service Associate (Investment Operations)

Base salary range:
$70,000 – $80,000 + Bonus
Our client, a high-end global investment firm, is seeking a Client Service Associate to join its Boston office. This role sits at the intersection of client service, investment execution, and portfolio operations, offering direct exposure to sophisticated institutional portfolios and alternative investment strategies.
You’ll work closely with senior professionals across investment and client teams, playing a critical role in delivering a best-in-class client experience while supporting complex portfolio activity. Core Responsibilities
Client Advisory & Relationship Support
Partner with senior client service professionals to support institutional and high-net-worth client relationships
Draft and manage high-quality client communications, including capital activity, reporting, and ad hoc requests
Oversee client account activity across cash and securities, coordinating with custodians, administrators, and other parties
Maintain and enhance CRM systems and client records, and documentation
Act as a central point of coordination across internal teams to ensure timely and seamless client servicing
Investment Execution & Portfolio Operations
Develop familiarity with alternative investment structures, fund mechanics, and liquidity terms
Execute investment activity including subscriptions, redemptions, and capital calls across private markets and hedge funds
Coordinate trade execution and funding logistics with internal stakeholders and external parties
Liaise directly with fund administrators to ensure accurate and timely settlement of transactions
Review and validate portfolio reporting, performance statements, and client billing
Support the preparation of client materials, portfolio analyses, and investment presentations
Assist with audit and tax-related processes for client portfolios
Operational Excellence & Process Enhancement
Contribute to the continuous improvement of operational workflows and client service processes
Build expertise in portfolio management systems and middle/back-office infrastructure
Ensure strict adherence to data governance, information security, and regulatory requirements
Candidate Profile
1-2 years of experience in financial services, investment operations, or a related field
Bachelor’s degree with strong academic performance
Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage complex datasets with precision
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
Strong analytical mindset with the ability to operate in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Polished communication skills and a professional, client-oriented demeanor
Highly organized, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously
Demonstrated interest in financial markets and alternative investments
