Senior Land Technician
Full-Time | Edmond, OK
The Senior Land Technician will provide critical administrative and technical support to the land administration team and project management staff. This role is responsible for preparing, managing, and maintaining land records, lease data, and related documentation, as well as supporting the Land Administrator. The ideal candidate has oil and gas industry experience, strong analytical abilities, and excels in managing high-volume, detail-oriented work with minimal supervision.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare, maintain, and manage land records, leases, and ownership data
Analyze and interpret oil and gas leases, deeds, title opinions, and ownership reports
Ensure timely and accurate processing of lease bonus payments and other land-related obligations
Track deadlines, documentation, and departmental workflows to ensure efficiency and compliance
Coordinate with leasing agents and mineral owners to resolve title and ownership discrepancies, including preparation of curative instruments and affidavits
Support general land administration functions, including mail-outs, file management, recordation of documents, and call handling
Train and mentor junior land administration staff
Conduct due diligence activities for acquisitions and divestitures, as needed
Education
High school diploma or GED required
Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
Experience
3–5 years of land administration experience, preferably within the oil and gas industry
Core Skills & Competencies
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data management systems
Strong knowledge of oil and gas lease terms, contracts, and title processes
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Effective communication and collaboration abilities
