We are a small but fast-paced and client-focused personal injury law firm committed to providing compassionate and effective legal representation. We pride ourselves on teamwork, attention to detail, and going above and beyond for our clients. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a dedicated Paralegal/Legal Assistant to join our team and help us manage our expanding caseload.
Position Summary:
The ideal candidate will be organized, dependable, and experienced in personal injury law. You will play a key role in supporting attorneys from case intake through settlement or litigation. Strong communication skills, professionalism, and the ability to manage multiple tasks independently are essential.
Responsibilities:
* Draft and file pleadings, discovery requests/responses, and other legal documents
* Organize and maintain client files (electronic and hard copy)
* Communicate with clients, insurance adjusters, medical providers, and court personnel
* Request, track, and summarize medical records and bills
* Calendar deadlines, hearings, depositions, and other critical dates
* Prepare settlement demand packages
* Assist with trial and mediation preparation
* Perform general administrative duties, including answering phones, scheduling appointments, and managing mail
Qualifications:
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat
* Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
* Professional demeanor and client-first attitude
Preferred:
* Associate's or bachelor's degree in legal studies or related field
* Notary Public certification
