We’re looking for experienced professionals with a strong background in
substation protection & control (P&C)
within
utility or utility-support environments
to support a major projects around the
DFW
area.
Open Roles:
Lead Commissioning Engineer
Lead Relay Technician
Compensation:
Hourly W2 Contract with Per diem if over 50mi away from site
What You’ll Be Doing:
Lead and execute commissioning activities for substation protection & control systems
Perform relay testing, functional testing, and end-to-end system checks
Verify wiring, SCADA/communications, and control schemes
Support substation startup, energization, and troubleshooting efforts
Ensure systems are compliant, tested, and fully operational
Coordinate with field crews, engineers, and utility stakeholders

What We’re Looking For:
Hands-on experience with
relay testing & commissioning
(SEL, GE, ABB, etc.)
Strong background in
high-voltage substations (typically 69kV+)
Experience working for
utilities or contractors supporting utilities
Proven ability to lead commissioning efforts in the field
Solid understanding of protection schemes (line, transformer, bus)
⚠️ Must have energized a high voltage substation including relay testing
