Job Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced
Capital Project Cost Analyst / Project Controls Specialist
with strong industry expertise to support capital project planning, execution, and financial oversight. This role will be responsible for budgeting, cost tracking, forecasting, and financial analysis to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
Provide expertise in the development of capital project budgets and cost estimates
Develop project task charging structures and forecasts based on approved capital budgets
Monitor actual project costs, ensuring alignment with schedule and budget
Develop and utilize cost tracking tools to monitor capital project cost components
Review cost allocations, provide charging guidance, and ensure proper asset allocation for project unitization
Prepare project reports, scenario analyses, and management updates throughout the project lifecycle
Deliver monthly accruals and cash flow forecasts
Lead monthly cost review meetings with contractors and internal stakeholders
Support accounting, finance, and audit teams with required financial analysis
Provide financial analysis for invoice approvals, change orders, and contract negotiations
Establish and maintain internal controls to ensure compliance and accurate reporting
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or related field
Strong experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A)
Proven experience supporting capital project planning, scheduling, and execution
Knowledge of cost estimating, contract management, and procurement processes
Experience collaborating with project managers and cross-functional teams
Experience in the
natural gas industry
and familiarity with related facilities and equipment
Advanced expertise in
Microsoft Excel (including macros), PowerPoint, and Oracle
Strong understanding of project controls and cost management methodologies
