BCforward is seeking a highly motivated HPC Engineer to support their pharmaceutical client’s Research IT team.

Job Description
We are seeking a HPC Engineer to join our team. The candidate will have experience in high performance computing, GPU resource management, and scientific software ecosystems and the ability to enable researchers through reliable scheduling, workflow support, and environment administration.
Responsibilities:
Onboard researchers to HPC environments and provide hands-on technical support for computational job submission and workflow execution.
Administer and support HPC job scheduling infrastructure, including Schrödinger jobserver deployment, upgrades, configuration, and troubleshooting across multiple sites.
Manage GPU compute resource allocation and monitor utilization to ensure efficient use across research teams.
Support computational chemistry workflows including Schrödinger Suite (FEP, ABFEP, Glide, Desmond, PyMOL), Gromacs, Amber, MOE, Cresset Blaze, and related tools.
Install, configure, and maintain scientific software packages such as SmallWorld, Arthor, WebCSD, Pipeline Pilot, ASKCOS, CryoSPARC, and ChemProp.
Manage storage systems (Isilon, AWS S3) including usage monitoring, cleanup coordination, and data archiving strategy.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Proficiency with HPC schedulers and job orchestration, including Schrödinger job server administration.
Experience managing GPU resources and monitoring utilization across clusters.
Ability to support computational chemistry toolchains such as Schrödinger Suite, Gromacs, Amber, MOE, and Cresset Blaze.
Experience with storage platforms such as Isilon and AWS S3, including lifecycle and archiving practices.
Preferred Skills:
Familiarity with additional scientific software such as SmallWorld, Arthor, WebCSD, Pipeline Pilot, ASKCOS, CryoSPARC, and ChemProp.
Ability to support users across time zones. Preference to EST/CST. PST acceptable.
