Ridgeline Montessori Public Charter School seeks a skilled, dependable, and student-centered

Middle School Classroom Assistant

to join our middle school team. This is a full-time position serving students in grades 7-8.

The Middle School Classroom Assistant is a key member of the classroom team. Working under the direction of the classroom teacher and in collaboration with school staff, this position helps maintain a safe, orderly, engaging learning environment and supports students in developing independence, responsibility, self-regulation, and positive participation in the school community.
This role is well-suited to someone who genuinely enjoys adolescents and brings maturity, organization, strong judgment, and a collaborative mindset to their work. We are looking for a candidate who can build respectful relationships with middle school students while also supporting the structure, consistency, and follow-through that help a classroom and school run well.

Key Responsibilities

Support the classroom teacher in maintaining a safe, orderly, welcoming, and developmentally appropriate learning environment
Provide attentive supervision and support to students across classroom and school settings
Reinforce routines, expectations, respectful communication, and positive participation in the classroom community
Support students in ways that promote independence, responsibility, self-regulation, and problem-solving
Support implementation of schoolwide student support systems, including behavior response, documentation, and communication
Use school technology systems accurately and responsibly to maintain records and documentation
Collaborate effectively with teachers, administrators, specialists, and staff across classrooms and grade levels
Monitor communications, follow through on responsibilities, and maintain awareness of schedules, deadlines, and operational expectations

the ability to manage multiple responsibilities, follow established systems consistently, and

proactively attend to priorities with sound judgment and initiative.

a calm, respectful, and developmentally appropriate approach to student support
a growth mindset and openness to guidance, feedback, and continued learning
professional judgment, reliability, confidentiality, and strong boundaries
the ability to balance warmth with consistency and accountability

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required
Demonstrated experience working with students at the middle school level
Experience working in an educational setting

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in a Montessori setting
Successful experience working on a collaborative team that serves the public
Specialized subject matter background relevant to middle school programming
Current First Aid/CPR certification, or ability and willingness to obtain certification
