Senior Tax Analyst

Position Overview:
The Corporate Sr Tax Analyst is responsible for managing the U.S. federal and state income tax compliance and assisting with the quarterly and annual income tax provision process under ASC 740. This role will also support tax planning, research, audits, and process improvement initiatives, with a focus on technical accuracy, timeliness, and collaboration across the finance organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Tax Provision & Reporting:
Assist in preparation and review of the consolidated income tax provision (ASC 740) for SEC filings, including supporting schedules and footnotes.
Coordinate with external auditors on provision and tax compliance matters.

Tax Compliance:
Manage and review federal, state, and local income tax returns, extensions, and estimated payments.
Maintain tax calendar and ensure compliance deadlines are met.

Tax Research & Planning:
Support tax research and planning projects, including analysis of legislative changes and business transactions.
Help identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities.

Audit & Controversy:
Respond to IRS and state tax authority information requests and participate in audit defense.
Maintain documentation of tax positions and support FIN 48 analyses.

Process & Controls:
Assist in maintaining SOX 404 controls over tax.
Help standardize and document tax processes and procedures.

Team Development:
Supervise, mentor, and develop tax analysts and staff as needed.
Support training and knowledge sharing within the tax function.

Cross-functional Collaboration:
Partner with accounting, FP&A, legal, and other internal groups on tax matters.
Support special projects and ad hoc requests from management.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s in Accounting or equivalent, CPA required.
3–10 years of relevant experience, with a mix of public accounting (national firm) and/or corporate tax department.
Strong technical knowledge of U.S. federal and state corporate income taxation, ASC 740, and tax compliance.
Global Tax experience preferred
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
