Place of Performance:
Services will be performed in the Health Services Department at FCI Thomson located at 1100 One Mile Road, Thomson, Illinois, 61285.
Schedule:
The function of this position is to provide a wide range of pharmacy services that will provide two (2) pharmacist coverage in the absence of the Chief Pharmacist or Staff Pharmacist during annual leave, extended medical/sick leave, and continued professional education. These services will be performed as needed, as determined by the health services department at FCI Thomson.
Education and Experience:
The individual providing Pharmacist services under this award must have completed a formal Pharmacy license to practice in the State of Illinois with. The applicant must have a Valid Drivers License, have a current CPR certification, and experience working in a correctional environment is preferred, but not required.
Responsibility
Interpret physician and advanced practice provider prescription orders.
Enter prescription orders into the pharmacy computer and print prescription labels.
Select the correct medication and prepare the prescription.
Inventory medication and supplies.
Enter medication and supply order data in the prime vendor computer system.
Maintain minimum quantities of stock items and notify the institution pharmacist of items to order.
File all reports about the pharmacy, including patient records
Dispense, administer, and record entries for the required medication.
Possess a working knowledge and maintain technical computer skills about pharmacy issues.
Must participate in Improving Organizational Performance Data and Quality Assurance Activities as directed by the Pharmacist or HSA.
Maintain a clean and sanitary work area.
Refill and inventory of Pyxis machines & utilization of Scriptpro machine for dispensing, refilling, and verification
