Coda Search is partnering with an alternative asset management group that is seeking to hire an Controller with offices in New York, NY. This is a growing firm that is over $50BN in assets and invests specifically in emerging markets and global equities. The Controller will be overseeing the management company side of the business preparing the monthly financial reporting package, budgeting/forecasting, KPI analysis on its operating entities, cashflow forecasting, and leading the annual audit.
Responsiblities:
Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting for the firm’s funds and investments.
Perform cashflow forecasting, working closely with senior management to optimize cash management strategies.
Manage portfolio valuation processes, including monitoring fair value adjustments and compliance with valuation policies.
Lead the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors to ensure compliance with reporting standards.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to enhance process efficiencies, build reporting automation, and support continuous improvement efforts.
Monitor and analyze fund performance metrics, providing insights and recommendations to inform business strategy.
Qualifications:
Bachelors in Accounting
8+ years of experience (ideally within financial services)
Public accounting experience and an active CPA would be a plus
Process improvement experience and building efficiencies
Strong Excel skills (vlookups/pivots)
