Designs, develops, and verifies FPGA and ASIC solutions supporting space-based systems, including RTL development, simulation, and hardware integration for mission‑critical aerospace applications.
Position Details
Space Systems / Aerospace Engineering
Contract – Approximately 8 Months
1st Shift (4/10 Schedule; Hybrid Potential)
Must be a U.S. Citizen
$89.13 - $110.00 per Hour
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science or higher from an accredited college in Electrical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience and combined education.
Experience synthesizing and building designs based on Microchip and Xilinx/AMD FPGA targets: UltraScale Plus, RT Polarfire, Versal, RTG4.
Experience with Libero, Vivado, and Synopsys Tools (Simulation, Lint/CDC, and Synthesis).
Design experience using Verilog, SystemVerilog, and VHDL.
Quick learner, able to get up to speed quickly with current designs, and ability to quickly understand requirements documentation.
Experience debugging designs both in the lab and in a simulation environment, and willingness to work with other teams to debug designs.
Experience with SpaceWire.
Willingness to work on Circuitware documents for milestone review preparation (Requirements documentation, analysis, presentation materials).
Experience using Python.
Responsibilities
Develop RTL code and supporting scripts for FPGA and ASIC implementations.
Design and implement FPGA solutions for space‑rated and radiation‑hardened devices.
Perform simulation, debugging, and validation of FPGA designs in lab and virtual environments.
Collaborate with systems and verification engineers to define requirements and validate designs.
Support integration of FPGA designs into hardware platforms.
Prepare and maintain design documentation, test data, and technical deliverables.
Participate in design reviews, technical meetings, and milestone activities.
Assist in development of concept of operations and system‑level design requirements.
Ensure compliance with engineering processes and data protection requirements.
