Position Summary
The Director of Curriculum & Academic Success is a full‑time faculty member (rank commensurate with experience). The primary responsibility is to ensure programmatic accreditation standards and state agency regulations are met while maintaining high‑quality content delivery across existing and new programs. The incumbent will work closely with faculty, staff, and program leaders to keep curricula up to date, act as the liaison between the nursing department and South University’s Digital Resource Team, and support students in achieving successful NCLEX and Nurse Practitioner certification outcomes.

Serves as liaison between faculty and the Associate Dean of Curriculum and Academic Success.
Implements curricular changes in collaboration with faculty and other University campuses.
Assists with curricular and policy revisions requested by the College/School Dean or Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs.
Ensures Department Chairs, Program Directors, and faculty comply with South University’s academic policies, SACSCOC, programmatic accreditation standards, and state agency regulations.
Supports curriculum development, mapping, and compliance with academic policies, SACSCOC, programmatic accreditation standards, and state agency regulations.
Supports maintenance and implementation of the College’s Systematic Evaluation Plan.
Supports the Associate Dean of Curriculum and Academic Success in ensuring the curriculum meets accreditation standards and Board of Nursing standards.
Assists with NCLEX pass rate strategies.
Supports the clinical team, Department Chairs, Program Directors, and Assistant Program Directors in program assessment and strategic planning.
Serves the College and University on committees as requested by the College/School Dean.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Engages in scholarly activities that contribute to the field of study and enhance the learning environment.
Faculty Development Activities
Completes professional development and in‑service activities each year as outlined in the faculty supplement.
Requirements
A terminal degree from a regionally accredited institution with a concentration in the teaching discipline is preferred; minimum of a master’s in nursing.
Curriculum development experience at both undergraduate and graduate programs is preferred.
Experience with systematic evaluation plans.
Experience with overall program assessment strategies and post‑graduation assessments such as NCLEX and NP certification pass rates.
At least 3–4 years of teaching experience at a post‑secondary education institution.
Active, valid, and unencumbered state nursing license or certification as applicable to the discipline (CNE preferred).
Membership in a professional association related to the area of instruction (preferred).
Practical experience in the discipline and knowledge of current best practices; experience in either pre‑licensure or post‑licensure program curriculum is preferred.
Evidence of management experience.
Strong leadership and strategic planning skills.
Travel
Must be available for travel. Up to 25% travel for Accreditation/BON visits.
Graduation or Pinning Ceremonies
Participation in graduation or pinning ceremonies as required.
