Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Director to join our team at Goldwater Care Marseilles. As the leader of our Maintenance Department, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, developing, and directing the overall operation of the department to ensure the facility is maintained in a safe and comfortable manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the Maintenance Department, its programs, and activities
Coordinate maintenance services and activities with other related departments
Inspect storage rooms, workrooms, utility/janitorial closets, and other areas to ensure upkeep and supply control
Participate in facility surveys (inspections) made by authorized government agencies and develop a plan of correction for maintenance deficiencies
Perform administrative duties, such as completing necessary forms, reports, evaluations, and studies
Supervise safety and fire protection and prevention programs and ensure maintenance personnel follow established safety regulations
Ensure that all personal wear and/or use safety equipment and supplies when lifting or moving heavy objects
Maintain confidentiality of all resident care information and report known or suspected incidents of unauthorized disclosure
Qualifications
High school education or its equivalent
Minimum 3 years experience in a supervisory capacity, in a maintenance/plant-related position
Knowledge of boilers, compressors, generators, and various mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
Ability to read and interpret blueprints
Knowledge of building codes and safety regulations
Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
Physical Demands
Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday
Must function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel, and support agencies
Must meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of the facility
