Summary
As an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant at Rising Sun Dental Care, you will play an essential role in supporting our dental team and ensuring a smooth patient experience. This position is vital for maintaining high standards of care and contributing to our mission of promoting oral health to our community.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Assist dentists during examinations and procedures by preparing instruments and materials.
Maintain a sterile environment by following infection control protocols and aseptic techniques.
Take dental radiographs (X-rays) as directed by the dentist.
Take diagnostic impressions, and pouring models
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care instructions.
Manage patient records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and accurate documentation.
Using OpenDental to post treatment completion at the end of an appointment, completing clinical appointment notes, treatment planning, etc.
Assist with inventory management of dental supplies and equipment.
Qualifications
Bubbly personality, outgoing and excellent patient interaction
Pennsylvania EFDA license or license applied for (new graduates)
Strong knowledge of general dentistry practices and dental terminology.
Experience with infection control procedures and aseptic techniques is essential.
Familiarity with medical imaging techniques is a plus.
Understanding of HIPAA regulations regarding patient confidentiality.
Proficiency in using dental software such as OpenDental is beneficial but not required.
