We are seeking an experienced Senior Cypress Automation Engineer to join our dynamic QA Automation team. As a Senior engineer, you’ll play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining robust automated test suites for our consumer credit platform. You’ll work with modern testing frameworks and collaborate closely with development teams to ensure the highest quality standards across our applications.

This is an opportunity to lead automation initiatives, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to building a scalable, maintainable test infrastructure while leveraging emerging AI tools to enhance productivity and test coverage.

Responsibilities

Design & develop comprehensive automated test scripts using Cypress and TypeScript, ensuring coverage of functional, regression, and API testing scenarios.

Implement & maintain scalable, industry‑best‑practice end‑to‑end test automation frameworks.

Conduct API testing (REST/GraphQL) including payload validation, authentication, authorization, and error handling.

Write & optimize SQL queries for database validation, data seeding, and backend verification as part of the automation test suite.

Leverage AI tools (Claude, Copilot Studio, etc.) to enhance test script generation, identify edge cases, and improve test efficiency.

Collaborate with development teams, product managers, and QA engineers to translate requirements into comprehensive test scenarios.

Lead & mentor junior automation engineers, providing guidance on best practices, code reviews, and technical solutions.

Identify & report defects with detailed logs, evidence, and reproducible steps; track and verify resolutions.

Ensure CI/CD integration by maintaining automated tests within continuous integration pipelines and troubleshooting integration issues.

Contribute to performance and security testing efforts where applicable.

Maintain clear documentation of test cases, frameworks, and procedures for team knowledge sharing.

Qualifications
Must‑Have Skills:

7+ years of professional experience in QA automation testing.

Advanced proficiency with Cypress, hands‑on experience building and maintaining test suites.

Strong programming skills in TypeScript (preferred) or JavaScript for scalable, maintainable test code.

Proven expertise in REST API testing, including tools like Postman or Thunder Client, and deep understanding of request‑response validation, headers, authentication, and status codes.

Working knowledge of SQL for validating data, seeding test data, and performing backend verification.

Experience with version control systems such as Git/GitHub.

Solid grasp of functional, regression, and end‑to‑end testing principles.

Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and detail‑oriented problem‑solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Playwright or other modern test automation frameworks.

Hands‑on experience integrating AI‑powered coding assistants (Claude AI, Copilot Studio, GitHub Copilot) to enhance testing workflows.

Proficiency in asynchronous programming, promises, and functional programming concepts in JavaScript/TypeScript.

Familiarity with OWASP and security testing best practices.

Experience with CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar.

Proven ability to work in Agile/Scrum environments.

Basic knowledge of load testing tools like JMeter or Lighthouse.

Strong interpersonal and mentoring skills to guide team members.

This role focuses on delivering high‑quality automated tests and leading the QA automation team across various development & testing areas.
