What You'll Do:




The Grants Associate, Premier Donor & Specialized Grants is responsible for performing due diligence and ensuring the timely payment of grants recommended by NPT's donors, with a focus on high-touch premier donors. The Grants Associate, Premier Donor & Specialized Grants will also work closely with NPT's Premier Services and Private Client teams to help deliver premium service and support for key premier and VIP donor relationships.




Salary: $55,000 plus 8.4% annual discretionary bonus. Internal candidates are encouraged to apply; compensation based on experience and internal equity.




This is a hybrid role requiring onsite presence Tuesday-Thursday, with the option to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays.



Duties/Responsibilities:



  • Perform due diligence on grants (domestic and international) recommended by NPT's donors (primarily premier donors), and for ensuring compliance with NPT's and the IRS's requirements.

  • Serve as subject matter expert on standard grantmaking, complex grantmaking, grant agreements, and international grant due diligence.

  • Conduct grants outreach as needed, engaging with donors, advisors, charities, and the NPT legal team to either obtain due diligence information, provide status updates, or answer questions

  • Monitor & track grant agreement payments and recoverable grants.

  • Liaise with legal team as they draft, edit and finalize grant agreements, amendments and "No-cost extensions."

  • Keep key stakeholders well-appraised of grant status updates.

  • Liaise with NPT's Finance Team to ensure timely and accurate delivery of expedited grant payments.

  • Conduct grantee research using search tools such as GuideStar, IRS publication 78, religious organization directories, and other tools, as necessary.

  • Pay out grants through various payment methods (checks, wires, EFTs) following established procedures

  • Maintain a working knowledge of Donor Advised Fund policies and regulatory requirements.

  • Proficient in the suite of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel

  • Familiarity with Salesforce is a plus.

  • Excellent verbal, writing, and proofreading skills

  • Both team player and capable of independent work





Education and Experience:



  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in nonprofit or the financial services industry

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, business or related field, or equivalent experience

  • Knowledge of grant making best practices is strongly preferred

  • Experience with Donor-Advised Funds is a plus
