Job Details Location: Valdez, Alaska (99686) – Valdez OT job in a scenic coastal community, ideal for Alaska travel OT and outdoor enthusiasts. Assignment Type: Travel Contract (Travel Occupational Therapist / Travel OT) Duration: 13 weeks (May 18, 2026 – August 17, 2026) Setting: Primarily outpatient pediatric population; also serves hospital (inpatient & swing bed), long-term care (LTC/SNF), and outpatient rehab Shift: Day shifts, 5x8-hour days (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM) Hours: 40 hours/week (Guaranteed 70 hours per 2 weeks; may be called off for one 10-hour shift per 2 weeks) Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,060 – $2,210 Housing & Vehicle: Facility-provided housing (typically 1-bedroom apartment) and shared-use vehicle included Patient Population: Pediatrics-focused outpatient with opportunities in acute care, swing bed, and LTC patients Job Requirements Minimum 1 year of recent Occupational Therapy experience; prior travel OT experience required Active OT license in Alaska required (pending Alaska license accepted) BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required Experience across outpatient, acute care, LTC/SNF, and pediatrics preferred Prior pediatric and inpatient OT experience strongly preferred Proficiency with standardized assessments, developmental testing/treatment, and functional activities Epic charting experience preferred (electronic medical record experience helpful) Availability to work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year) Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility (no local candidates accepted) References: Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year within the last 3 years Responsibilities Provide high-quality occupational therapy services to a largely outpatient pediatric population and to inpatient, swing bed, and LTC patients as needed Conduct evaluations, complete standardized assessments, and develop individualized treatment plans Implement treatment interventions focused on developmental, sensory, functional, and ADL goals Transition seamlessly between outpatient, inpatient, and long-term care settings Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (PT, SLP, nurses, physicians, case managers) to optimize patient outcomes Document patient progress and maintain accurate records using Epic or other EMR systems (Epic preferred) Educate patients and families on therapy goals, home programs, adaptive equipment, safety, and injury prevention Participate in department meetings and contribute to a positive, team-oriented culture Why Join This Travel OT Role in Valdez, Alaska?
