Advanced Infusion RN | PICC Specialist
Join a dedicated healthcare team in the Pacific Northwest region as an experienced Registered Nurse specializing in outpatient infusion therapy and PICC line management. This role offers the opportunity to provide compassionate, skilled care to a diverse patient population with various medical needs.
Job Summary
As an Advanced Infusion RN, you will assess, implement, and evaluate nursing care using critical thinking and sound clinical judgment. Your expertise in IV therapy, venipuncture, and central venous access devices, including PICC and midline placement, will be essential in delivering high-quality outpatient care. This position involves 10-hour shifts with variable days and rotating weekend coverage.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer medications and treatments following approved nursing protocols.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to ensure continuity and excellence of care.
- Document patient care accurately, including medications, vital signs, and intake/output.
- Function primarily as the outpatient infusion nurse, with flexibility to assist other patients within scope.
- Maintain compliance with nursing practice regulations and legal requirements.
- Participate in orientation, staff meetings, and ongoing training to foster teamwork and professional growth.
- Engage in special projects and additional duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program is required.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
Licenses and Certifications
- Current, unrestricted nursing license in Washington State.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
Skills and Abilities
- Strong knowledge of nursing procedures and outpatient care principles.
- Ability to apply age-specific growth and development principles to patient care.
- Commitment to patient privacy and HIPAA compliance.
- Effective organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records and Microsoft Office applications.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and carry up to 35 lbs occasionally, with frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching. Normal vision, hearing, and speech capabilities required.
