Real Estate Bookkeeper (QuickBooks Setup & Historical Data Entry)
We are seeking a detail-oriented bookkeeper with strong QuickBooks experience to set up a new QuickBooks Online file and enter approximately 2,000 historical transactions for a residential real estate portfolio. This is a short-term (13 months) project working from an organized mapping file with a defined chart of accounts and coding structure, with a focus on accurate data entry, reconciliation, and flagging any unclear items for review.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and configure a QuickBooks Online (QBO) file for a real estate investment and operations entity
- Enter and reconcile approximately 2,000 historical transactions using a structured Excel transactions mapping file, and other support files
- Follow a predefined chart of accounts and transaction coding structure
- Ensure all transactions are recorded accurately and consistently
- Flag any unclear or incomplete items for review rather than making assumptions
- Assist in identifying any clean-up or adjusting entries as needed
- Support tracking across approximately 11 properties using class and location structure
- Collaborate with the project lead to resolve questions and finalize entries
Requirements
- Strong QuickBooks Online experience, including setting up a new company file
- Proficiency in Excel and working with QBO from structured data files
- Experience with real estate bookkeeping (purchase, rehab, and rental operations preferred)
- Solid understanding of basic accounting concepts, including expenses vs. capitalized costs
- High attention to detail and ability to work efficiently through a large volume of transactions
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with a consultant/principal when questions arise

Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $25.00 - $25.00 Per Hour
