Job Description:
Responsible for the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Is responsible for directing and coordinating nursing care for patients based on nursing practice standards. Collaborates with other healthcare professionals to provide quality, cost-effective, and efficient care and to achieve the best possible patient outcome. Serves as a resource person when the situation requires. Applies age-specific considerations and cultural diversity when rendering patient care. Is responsible for care of all patients from birth to elderly during the pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative care.
Responsibilities:
- Direct and coordinate nursing care for patients based on nursing practice standards
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide quality and efficient care
- Act as a resource in specific situations
- Provide pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative care
Requirements:
- Must have completed a program of education in nursing from an NLN approved institution
- Associate Degree in Nursing required, BSN preferred
- Minimum 1-2 years OR experience
- Licensed in good standing in the State of Alaska as a Registered Professional Nurse
- Current BLS & ACLS; PALS preferred
- National Certification in Surgery/PACU preferred
- Proficient oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge of AORN standards required
- Ability to manage care across the continuum of care
